"Multimedia Guru Wanted!"By: Adam
Okay, Gaia Gold is getting busier, and we need to expand our team. We have tons of great new material coming in, so it’s time to start looking for our Multimedia Guru.
Currently, I’m editing movies myself. I can chop video footage around and export it – but my skills end there. We need someone to be responsible for our media; producing trailers, creating wonderful things, and ensuring the movies we put out are optimal in resolution / picture quality etc.
We are looking for someone with ideas, who is passionate about petlove, and passionate about multimedia. You should be familiar with Premiere, Vegas or similar, post production software such as After Effects, know all about sound qualities, codecs – all that jazz. Familiarity with some basic animation (Flash / After Effects etc) would also be good.
Now, we receive probably 1 enquiry per week from folks offering to do our editing. In all likelihood, this here will generate a lot more. As you can imagine, the queue to be the first person anywhere to see the material, the raw material, this is a long queue. It’s not a position we will hand out lightly.
As a professional working closely with us and our team, we will expect to know who you are. Really know who you are. This will require ID etc. This is for security – 2 reasons. Firstly, access to the raw material may put producers at risk. Producers generally remove anything unwanted from their material before submitting it to us – but sometimes things slip through. We need to know you are “good people” and can be trusted with this responsibility.
Secondly, there are… chuckle, “a few” websites out there that would give an arm to get their hands on our raw material. We need to know material is not going over to you, then out the back door to some shitbag website. Yes, there are folks out there just that low.
Given these considerations, the role of Multimedia Guru carries great responsibility. So security is essential.
If the above does not deter you - and if you are a straight-up kinda person, it shouldn't - in the first instance, please contact me – the usual address – with your multimedia showreel. I will take a look at your work, if it is the kind of thing we are looking for, we can talk further.
Don't worry about discretion - everything we do around here is discrete, and your identity will be respected, and security maintained for you in the same way we maintain security for all of our team.
Here’s hoping that, somewhere out there, there is a serious petlove fan who is an absolute multimedia wizard and would like to work with us. Could it be you?
